Do any of these install without having to hammer/massage the trans tunnel? I have the stock bellhousing, but am considering going with a scatter shield on the car. I could prefer not to permanently alter the tunnel if possible.

Had one in my '68 Hemi RR - no fitment problems, though we did have to center it, which is pretty normal.
Car had Hooker headers on it, no interference problems.

I have one in a '67 GTX with a Hemi. Fits close but no massaging.

I've had one on my Bee since 1979. Probably not necessary, but I knocked the upper part of the firewall to floor seam back flat to make sure nothing touched. No other mods. Buy Joel's and bolt her in...

There was slight interference on my '69 RR. I was thinking it might have been from movement in the motor mounts then I remembered they were solid AND I had a torque strap !! So maybe the trans mount had some movement OR the body was twisting. Anyhow, I also hammered back that lip and I also trimmed it about 1/4"

My lakewood in the 69’ bee required just a slight bit of grinding on the firewall to floor weld flange with no mods to the tunnel.
