Shipping a drive shaft ?

Anyone have any input on who to use and how to pack it? I'm thinking of using 3- 1x4's and tie them to it....then wrap that with cardboard and tape the crap out of it.///

That sounds good for FedEx or UPS, just don't send it USPO, they will f**k it up.

Probably the best way is to put it in pvc pipe...It ain,t cheap but you don,t want to have it beat up on arrival!

yeah use schedule 40 PVC pipe (white one) cut it to size, glue a cap on at one end then glue a female adapter on the other end and close it with a PVC plug. I ship rolled up painted canvas' worldwide that way.

What about heavy cardboard tubes? I think carpet comes rolled around them.

Check the dimensional weight. This could qualify as oversize and be fairly costly to ship. Even if you use a tube I'd still strap a board to the outside to help stiffen it up.

i just wrapped the ends in cardboard and taped them up and shipped it through fedex. not too bad on cost at all.

Didn't think it would be too expensive but the guy that wanted it finally figured out that it wouldn't work in his car after several PM's. I find it odd because I sent him the exact measurements and what it was used for in the first or second PM.... :angry7:
