Shipping a pair of bucket seats from Ohio to Washington State?

I have just bought a pair of bucket seats off a bloke in Ohio and I need to get them to Battle Ground WA where a reputable shipper to Australia is based. Any tips on the cheapest but effective way to get them there?

Man you should have thought of that before the purchase. It would have been cheaper to have somebody build you a pair. There is NO cheap way. Shipping is out of control. Isn't this like 9000 miles? And three or four shippers.

Break them down into 4 parts.Usually the backs in one box and the bottoms in another.should be able to get under the size limitations that way.Also remove the tracks and pack where they wont be pokeing out the box.Then Fedex or UPS ground.

You will need to seperate the backs from the lower section then bundle each seat with shrinkwrap. The least expensive shipper is Grayline, (grayhound bus). Once you have package size and weight you can calculate shipping cost online. each package will have to be dropped of and picked up at a grayhound bus terminal.
If the tracks are being shipped they should be detached and packaged seperately.

Another alternative is uship.com, I've not had much luck with them but several shippers can bid for your business. Cheap usually means unreliable there.

Good Day Mate,
Try calling Yellow or roadway. You will most likely have to drop off at terminal (saves more $ ) Bluefury made a good point with Grayhound or another over the road bus company. Most of there trips are not full of personal items. Therefore plenty of space. (the bus company loves this no people just $ and items no stress. I have done many Greyhound deals They are good. Just like car transporters. You get what you pay for.
Once again you will have to drop at Bus terminal and pu at the destination terminal unless you work out 2nd shipper at terminal.
I will be shipping front and rear seats from my '70 charger from Colorado to ny the greyhound way.

Shipping by bus, cheap. Shipping by train (Amtrak) also cheap. Don't know if the train goes by where you need it to, but you might want to look into it. Good luck.

Pabster, That's a good idea maybe, about the shipping by trains {Amtrak}, I haven't ever tried that way of shipping... I don't have a clue either...LOL.. I do know truck shipping is cost prohibitive it was like $360+ crating & material fees, to ship a "front bench seat", from my "68 RR" from Calif. to Missouri... that was the lowest, they had to have a loading dock also, I had bids of $600+... it's a rip off
