Should I run stock ring gap on a tunnel ram 440?

I have a 440 I’m rebuilding and it’s gonna be bored 30 over, just normal forge pistons and crank. But I’m running a tunnel ram on it and with all the extra air I don’t want it to break the pistons so I was wandering if I should still run stock ring gap?

Your worries are unjustified, gap the rings according to the manufacturers spec for what your doing.

How you came to that idea/conclusion is beyond me.

"all the extra air" ?!?!? Is there a blower or turbo on top of that tunnel ram you're not telling us about ??? If anything, the cam determines whether there will be any more air - not the intake.

I agree with all the responses so far. Over 30 years, Tunnel Ram on 440 w/factory ring gaps, no problems other than it seems to increase the wear on my rear tires, but that could be unrelated.....

Gaps are wider for boost or nitrous due to the added heat.Look at the ring manufacturer specs.

Don't worry about it. It takes a thick skin to ask a question on most forums. However, you'll never learn if you don't ask. Actually, I think the guys were on their best behavior with their answers...lol.

I have a 383/431 B block with Icon pistons and used the gap recommended with the ring set. It's in my drag boat so it sees a lot of full load high rpm. And it's running a Wieand tunnel ram. If it wasn't for the fact you need a hole in the hood, I would run a tunnel ram on my 70 RR.
