Some good airplane museums
Palms Springs Air Museum, Palm Springs, California.. From the F14 parked out front, to the B17 undergoing resto, it's a hell of a place. And for a small fee, they'll let you tour the 17.
Warhawk Air Musueum, Nampa Idaho. Not just warbirds, but planes from all conflicts, including a couple Soviet Mig's.
USS Yorktown, NYC.. Haven't been there in many years, but they have a hell of a display of all different planes.
USS Midway, San Diego, California
HMCS Ojibwa, Port Burwell, Ontario
Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, Hamilton, Ontario
Ships: Buffalo, NY Naval Museum. 3 ships to tour, don't know if the USS Sullivan's is re-opened yet.
Seawolf park, Galveston, Texas. Get to tour USS Stewarts and USS Cavalla, which sunk the last ship of WWII.
USS Yorktown again... get to tour not only the ship but the USS Regulus, first naval vessel that could hit Russia with a nuclear weapon.
Every state was granted a WWII submarine that could be toured. The only ones that can't are NJ and South Carolina, who decided to scrap it instead of repair it. NJ's just rots away.. thanks Les

Steamtown, Scranton, PA.
Horseshoe Curve, near Altoona, PA.... be warned... foamers tend to lurk and walk away with sticky undies when a train goes by..
