I've been wanting to put a scoop on my car for a while to keep things a bit cooler under the hood mainly.
I really want to use a six pack scoop and have a couple of questions.
Does anyone know what the original scoop height at the highest point on the front is meant to be( from the hood to the top front of scoop on the centre)?
I have seen numbers of 3.5", 41/4" and 6" on the net. I was always under the impression they were closer to 3 inch.
Where i live the rules around scoops is very involved and limiting. The max height is 3 1/4( 80mm).
I have been unable to buy one at 3.5 inches but have seen ad for them, which brings me to my next question.
Has anyone heard of the company Hot Rod Fiberglass? They are based in Minnesota from the info on their page.
I've called and left a message and sent 2 inquiries from their Web pages form but can't seem to get any response.
They are the only company that advertisers the scoops at 3.5".
Any help much appreciated.

The aftermarket scoop you're looking at is 4-1/4" tall....it's only the opening that's 3-1/2". The six pack scoop looks "cool", but per your scoop rules & for the purpose of cooling the engine, a very tall cowl induction type scoop (hole facing the windshield) would be best IMO.

You could probably trim quite a bit down on the flange. Should really be introverted anyway.

Thanks for clearing that up. will look at other options now, including cowl scoop.
