I heard the tail end of a forecast last night so I had to look it up. Snow on Tuesday and a high of 39. I know you guys hate winter but I like it.

I had enough snow when I was a kid
Old and retired now I can live with out it

When I moved to Nevada from Pa many years ago I said it can never be too hot. I was done with winter.
Now I recant, It's TOO HOT ! 113 on my back porch in the shade today.Thank goodness September is here and will start the cool down.

I live in Northern BC Canada....hate the heat but love the cold!! I work outside on night shift and worked the coldest night we had last winter...-46*C with a windchill in the -55*C range!!

Well. Up here its that time of year for everything to dry up freeze and fall off. We had a late spring a very short summer so far. Even though the calendar says different. The 2 weeks prior to this was 29ish. 18c at night. Now 21 ish 5 c at night.

supposed to be 100*+f for like 4-5 days starting Sat. here

just how I like it

I get plenty of snow in the winter, I don't need any in Sept.

Ya must be in the elevations where a 1000 feet or so can be a huge change in temps. Not something I'm accustomed to. Was on a vacation some years ago in Nevada and it was in the 60's. Took the missus for a drive around Lake Tahoe and ran into a blizzard - all out white out. My wife was in a panic as she is deathly afraid of heights so turned around keeping the rental in low gear and back down...back to the 60's! Unreal.

You southerners...
Beautiful days here, currently bright and sunny, but going down to near freezing at night.
The downside is the mosquitoes gone but the black flies are out, and they are worse then mosquitoes.
Daughters fiancé is working in the very high arctic, they had snow a while ago. The locals were going to take him Narwal hunting, hopefully he got a chance.

You say "hunting", I assume that's not a form of fishing. How is that done. Please forgive my ignorance.

Don't tease me with snow... I lost a gallon of water yesterday working in 81 degrees with 175% humidity!!!

I’m not sure if you’re familiar with narwal; they are like a seal or tiny whale with a long tusk growing from their forehead. It can be six feet, or longer. Strangest looking things... Like a unicorn that swims.
Anyway, you hunt them from a boat. You have to be a good shot; either scrambling their brain or severing the spine. I think you can harpoon them, but I’m not certain. The meat is very fatty, definitely not for everyone.

Yes, the elevation is key here. Denver is the mile-high city at 5280. Here at Moument Pass we are another 1/2 mile higher. 7500' above MSL. We are in the shadow of Pikes Peak which is 14,115'.
