Hey everybody. I think this was quite the score. I bought a 1973 Dodge Charger Hardtop for $500. Great shape, no rust holes; and a few dings. What do you think? I'm gonna make a "tribute" car with it. Do y'all think that's a fair deal? Plans for it: plum crazy purple with white rallye stripes and white vinyl top, and a tricked out motor. Just my newest addition! Already have a 1982 D-350 and '73 SE charger. 20150523_090957[1].jpg20150523_091008[1].jpg20150523_091209(0)[1].jpg

I think you got a hella good deal, the body seems to be fairly solid. It would make a great build

$500 is nothing! Great deal! I was going to buy the same car from my friend in high school back in 1980. Same color 73 for $500. Then he banged up the drivers front fender
So i declined. I always regretted not buying it. Have fun!

Compared to what most people are paying for less of a car - you made the pig squeal. I don't know what that means but it sounds funny. Great deal. Keep us in the loop on the build. Welcome to FBBO!

Hell yeah man. Good deal! I recently bought a 74 Charger SE with a 400/727 for $1400 and thought I got a good deal but I think yours trumps mine for sure. Congrats!

Great deal. Have fun with it! Post a pic or two of the 73 se! I used to have one of those!

Here's some pics, Xp29h. This car is an all original survivor... Original paint, engine, transmission, carburetor, intake, heads, valvecovers, air cleaner, interior, wheels, vinyl top; you get the point. This is what's great about Wyoming cars: no moist air for rust to inhibit, and it's completely dry everywhere. There are some 30s cars sitting around in peoples backyards in great shape! Anyways, here's the SE Charger Brougham.20150511_203742[1].jpg Oh and the truck in the background.... I got for FREE!

Plans for the car?

Plum Crazy Paint, White vinyl top, white rallye stripes, magnum wheels, and a small block of some sort. I've thought about de-stroking a 360 with a 318 crankshaft. Would that work???

Unfortunately... the passenger door has a bullet hole!!!:angryfire:

Man, I would love to drill that car apart. I could use a lot of sheet metal off that puppy...

Horrible deal. You got shafted ,I'll be a nice guy and let you brake even on it . What do you think?

That's a score one of my favorites if you ever want your money back you let me know .
Congrats
I have a 72 rallye and a 74 s.e. sunroof charger I've had tons of these cars there great

Best thing of all... The car has been in the driest part of wyoming for 20 plus years. NO RUST. Except a little patina on the roof.... Does that count as rust??? I don't think so. And no... I don't want my money back. (I'm looking at you, Bb70charger500 )

D...thanks for pics of 73 se! Very cool. Mine was exactly same color combo! Have fun with both and the free truck!!
