Interesting conversation I guess it all comes down to a few simple things. Most of us were always told to mind our own business and have done it very well. "I'm not happy with the hand I've been dealt in life, so I'm going to change everything I can think of and I'm going to FORCE other people to validate my choices so I can feel important, and better about myself".

Mentally retarded people don't demand a holiday. They don't have marches for themselves. They don't give themselves a flag, or an award, or force other people to treat them differently. They simply...exist, and they do the best they have with what they've got. Like all of us do. Yes, there are fundraisers for Downs patients...but they aren't put together by the patients themselves, and not for their own "glory". They are actual, medical-treatment fundraisers to raise money to try and find solutions for an actual physical problem.

LGBTQ? Demand holidays. Months. Flags. Parades. Special treatment. For themselves. It's ego. And, it's all bullshit.

If a guy wants to sleep with guys, that's no problem for me. Some guys like gingers, some like blondes, some like brunettes...some like guys. Same for women - blonde, brunette, or another woman...have at it. Just KEEP IT PRIVATE. That's why it's called your PERSONAL LIFE. But to call it a "physical difference"? Nope. Show me the proof. Show me the different chromosome. Show me the different chemicals in the brain (not medication, but actual neural pathways and chemicals that are physically different).

You can't, because they don't exist.

And I do not have to treat you differently because of your choice.

I have to stay dressed in public; in changing rooms; in spas? So do you. I have to respect other people, avoid sexual harassment suits in the workplace, and not get arrested for offending a member of the opposite sex? So do you. I have to keep my hands off children, respect the parents' wishes, and not flash my junk at little boys and girls? SO DO YOU.

And if I break any of those rules, I get arrested (or worse).

Not once did I condone what this individual did, I think it was wrong and was handled incorrectly, and the individual should have to face the consequences that any other member of society would be faced with.

You all keep saying to keep what they are, LGBTQ, private...so what does that mean? Do they have to dress, talk and act in what you consider a socially acceptable manner? So a trans-woman can't dress like a woman, or a trans-man has to dress like woman simply because their chromosomes dictate that they are supposed to be one or another? What about public displays of affection? Are they not allowed to hold hands, kiss or show any form of affirmation to their partners?

I understand that a lot of your comments and beliefs are derived from your personal religion(s), I dropped religion many decades ago but I'm truly trying to understand your points of view.

Dress however you want. DO whatever you want (within the bounds of the law). But go about your lives like normal freakin' people. You don't need a rainbow flag to go to the grocery store, any more than I need to fly a DTOM flag everywhere I go.

Social Engineering ... bombarding society with the notion that anything and everything is acceptable conduct solely in an effort to remove taboo and longstanding morals.
