I'm on my way. It rained yesterday morning, but I'm sure the afternoon was great and the nitro cacklefest at 6pm was something to have seen and heard.
Anyway, at least I can make it today. Last event of the year I'm sure.

Nice, please post some pictures.The cacklefests' are always fun. I love smellin' that race fuel. They have a similar event here in Connecticut every year with the old drag cars that raced at Connecticut Dragway. Have fun!

I have come to appreciate the light weight and relative ease of building the mid-60s Nova II cars, and I think they look pretty menacing (forgive me)

Pretty wide tires for all stock suspension. Year One 9" aluminum Rallye wheels with 5" backspacing. 315/35/17 Toyo Proxes TQ drag radials...about 11" tread contact

Gen 2 HEMI, 3 pedals! KICK ***!!
Did I mention FOUR-TWENTY-SIX-HEMI?!

I wouldn't do this to a Viper if I had one...
There is just too many other "talents" a Viper possesses to tear one up, put a powerglide 2 speed auto in it, trash the interior, and make it strictly a 1320 track car. @vintage chromoly would be mortified! (I think...)

The first (legal) quarter mile race I ever ran. 1978, LaPlace Dragway at 16 years old. Stock 71 Charger R/T 440 4bbl auto open8 3/4, 3.23 R&P, AC, power steering and brakes...big Delta 60 Road Max tires (cheap local tire brand)...
So I pull up and stage, light goes green and I stand on it and just keep it floored.
Now I had been doing some street racing, and I probably managed low 15s to low 14s on the street? I ran a 15.6 that first time at LaPlace. My buddies were watching from the driver's side bleachers, and they said smoke was coming out of my car about the first half of the track. Well that was my ONE Delta 60 on the passenger side smoking the first 660 feet!
I got one of these for my Roadrunner, for old times' sake...

Not my favorite body style, but the owner said it was "all original, numbers matching" 71 GTX 440 4bbl SlapStick auto...The interior bucket seats, dash, console EXACTLY like my 71 Charger R/T!
My Charger had BLACK dual snorkel air cleaner, but this GTX was orange???
I thought the orange air filter enclosure was 72 on??
