you would need a 33 tooth gear if they are 28” tall 34 tooth if 27”

Stock 15 x F70 Polyglass

Here are a couple of charts. One from Brewers and another from a 69 service manual. Looking back through my notes, I ended up with either a #33 or #34 when running 28" tires on 3.23 ratio rears. The charts never seem to be exact for me, it's always trial and error.

Based on the FSM.. for F70-15's and me measuring the tires at 26.5" or so, I need the 35 tooth.

What gear are you using now and how much is it off? A one tooth change is around 2 mph difference at 60 mph.

No idea.. the Bird's trans VIN stamp is out of a C body and I've never touched it, so suspect it's original car probably had 2.76 or 2.94's in it and the speedo gear to go with it. Once pulled and replaced with the 35 tooth for the Bird's 3.55's I'll know... and if the speedo gear is correct for 2.94's I'll have one to correct my highway geared Bee toooo !

Sorry to the OP for cluttering up his for sale post.. but charts and all are good info for other buyers.

charts are good, you are correct. i use cope racing transmission for formula to figure speedo teeth. i will be in garage tomorrow to check what gears are left. will update post then. thanks for all inquiries and free ad.

i have the following gears left at this time. i will get out and try to find more when weather brakes. as of now i have: 2-25, 4-26, 1-27, 1-28, 1-29, 2-30, 1-35, 1-43, 2-45. prices are still the same but if you buy 2, i knock off 5.00.
