Hello everyone,

I have a 1973 Plymouth Roadrunner 440 GTX. About a year ago, I had the split bench seat redone. However, the driver side seat popped off and it won't stay in place when I put it back on. It seems like the latch on the bottom just keeps falling off the metal rod that comes out. It looks like it's just a basic washer that is holding this in place. Could it be that the washer is wore out? Or is there a certain way that the bench seat has to be put on in the middle for it to set right on the bolt. I hope this makes sense. Lol I am new to working on classic things and I am also afraid to ruin the new upholstery. Any kind of advice would help. Thanks

Look at the other side and you’ll see the thin “star” washer you’ll need at a hardware store. I’d post a pic but away from the garage currently. If you get one use a socket bigger than the post and tap on and then put your hinge cover back on. Welcome to the site

Awesome! I have the washer. I was thinking this was probably just wore out from being taken off and put back on and being the original one. So, I can get this at a basic hardware store. Thats great news. Really appreciate the help, Thanks
