Square holes in front bumper 71 CHarger

OK, got the spoiler remounted with the bumper guards, all fits perfectly after relocating the spoiler about 1 inch.

Now I am wondering what those square mounting holes between the bumper guard and outer edge of bumper are

(see pics). I have gone through all the shop manuals, body manuals etc and cannot find another example with the square holes. Any ideas?
 
Well that's interesting (and it turns out, correct). I'll have to go back through the old restoration pics from the 90's and see where it came from.

Seem to work though...
 
Those are not square, they are rectangular.
A square hole is usually for a bumper bolt.
