I have a 65 Coronet 500 that's been converted to front disc brakes. I have a stage control (roll control), whatever it is to lock the front brakes for burnouts. Can someone give me some instructions or PICTURES preferrably on how to install this thing....correctly :) I can install it wrong all by myself :) I'm in the process of replacing all the brake lines and cleaning stuff up and would like to go ahead and put this in while I'm at it. My son bought this for the car orignally and I don't think I have all the parts. I have the solenoid and lines, but I suspect there is a button somewhere I'm missing :) Any help would be appreciated.

The line lock goes in-line of the front circuit of your master, usually a few inches down from the bowl and it is directional. There are usually only two wires coming from it. One will be grounded (black) and the other (red) will go to a simple momentary button in your cockpit. Real simple like.

Roll Control/Line Lock

There are a couple of earlier threads on the subject, with photos, do a search for the subject... I have a couple & 1 in a members car Meep-Meep side ways photo...LOL.., sorry I don't have any others at the present time... Install the solenoid in-line, in the proper direction, in your main front brake line coming out of the master cylinder, to set the line lock press down on the brakes, then activate the button for the roll control solenoid {it hold the front brakes pressure from retuning back to the master cylinder until you let off the button}, then let off the brakes the rear brakes are free now, do your burn out or after staging etc., let the button go to release the roll control/line lock on the front brakes...

Not trying to hijack the thread but how did Meep Meep ever get that car through tech inspection at a sanctioned drag strip? Any brake line going over the trans/ converter area at the very least has to be shielded/ encased in some sort of pipe to protect it from explosion. They actually recommend moving any brake lines in that area to the front of the K frame for safety sake...

Actually the car is still under construction but this is good info! I have never heard of this before but the brake line is in the stock location and all I did was add the solenoid and a second line back to the metering valve. I'm using the solenoid as a tee. My 66 Belvedere is set up exactly the same and I have been through tech and allowed to race with slicks. Maybe they didn't see it? Easy enough to make a shield for it and I think I'll do that (I am running a blow proof bell housing by the way). Thanks for the tip!

Searched the forum and found several pictures of the line lock with lines going in and lines going out but never seen where the line was coming from or going to. From the text it appears it will go between the front bowl on the master cylinder and the proportioning valve. Looks like I need to get a switch, I'd really like that one "Budnicks" has with the 'Retard" label :) Thanks guys.

Are you calling me a retard ??... LOL

Great point I'm glad you caught that... NO BRAKE OR GAS LINE GOING BEHIND THE ENGINE ACROSS THE FIREWALL, for cars over/faster performance level of 11.49 ET or faster or when equipped with slicks/drag radials, If I remember the old rule correctly... It's been a while now, it maybe different level of performance/equipment or rule now... The Flywheel &/or flex Plate SFI rated shields/blankets & even trans & oil pan diapers are required in many levels of NHRA/IHRA drag racing, regardless or fuel/brake line locations... Check your local tracks sanctioning bodies rules book or the local tech. officials to be absolutely sure, when modifying your cars for strip/track use... Good luck & Happy Moparing

No not calling you a "retard", it looked like a spare sticker :) And Poppasmurf I have the B&M StarShifter, so I'll look up that handle...I was trying to figure out how I was going to shift, steer and put my finger on that little button :). Thanks for the help .

I know that, I was just trying to be funny...

The 11.49 rule makes sense but what about the FAST cars? Aren't they the restored cars with a bunch of hidden mods running the 9 and 10 sec 1/4's? The orange RR isn't going to be a track killer so I'm hoping I'll be fine.

Although I have no intention of being in the 11.49 range, if you don't run the passenger front line across the firewall, then where do you run it? I've got to get over there somehow?

Run the hard line under the front of the K-Member after a tee to the other passenger side brakes... That is pretty common, keeps it safe & out of the heat & protects it some...

The big deal in tech is when you bolt on slicks, they start to look a bunch closer at the car for tech violations, like, blankets, scatter shields, diapers, harnesses, brake & fuel line routing etc....
