So just bought a 400 short block from a genuine mopar nut :] and hes gonna help me out with the build (sending it to our local machine shop),since neither of us have done a stroker i thought id come back to the forums for some help.

-Can anyone briefly give me the specs of what i, goin to need to have done at the machinist?

-Also since i'm interested in the 470 i heard the rod/piston combo might be cheaper because of the chevy availability(bastards)..anyone have a link for a good quality combo so i can price this thing out?

heres a pic of my project for fun.. thx for the help guys

440 source.com has info on stroker motors. Also, if you are going to look at a kit and spend the money, why not just go further with more cubes? A cheaper stroker for 470 cubes is to use a 440 block and offset grind the crank to a 2.20 rod bearing. This increases the stroke and at the same time, makes for a smaller bearing. More cubes and slower bearing speed at the same time....which equates to less friction. That's a Chevy size but they don't have a bowtie on them....
