I just removed my power steering gear box and the coupler is still on the steering column shaft. Does this coupler just pull off? I tried and it was resisting. There also seems to be some kind of rubber o-rings inside the coupler. What are they and where can I get them. Many thanks

You have to open up the boot clamp and it should slide apart. there could be a small roll pin driven in the outer housing as a retainer to keep it from sliding apart. Read the FSM.

You have to bend the 4 tabs on that top metal piece that's holding the rubber on. Then there is a small pin near the top that you push out from the inside. Then the shaft and guts will pull out.

Pay close attention to the orientation of the shoes and the spring. I would doubt that the pin will come out. They're pressed in pretty tight. Bend the tabs on the cover just enough to remove it. They can break off if bent too far.

As Khryslerkid said, Do not remove the steel pin from the rod. The same measurement from side to side had to be the same.

My steering column is still in the car. Can I install the seal by going over the steering shaft pin? Also do I add any grease, where and how much.
Thanks in advance
You will have a very hard time doing it in the car. Just grease everything up going together and stuff a little extra in there. Don't over pack it with grease.
