somewhere in mids 70s ignition switch changed to this plug:
( can't tell when exactly )
Note... 73s and 74s are not exactly same steering column. Plates to firewall, bracket to under dash and pedal brakets and SHAFT ITSELF changed, using diff yoke and coupler setup
73 and up B's have the ISO-K as well as the F, J, M and R bodies though the K's are a little different due to the torsion bars changing from straight to "L" shapped.
I am not familiar with actual steering column changes though, sorry
71/72s are the same... 73 is one year... 74 are maybe similar to lates, can't tell for sure, dunno, but also 1 year if you compare with earliers.
MAYBE YOU CAN FIT a 74 assembly ( maybe lates too ) on a 73 as a full assembly just using some 73 column pieces, like the firewall plate and bracket, since lenght actually remains the same.
here you can see some differences... 2 firts pics are 74... 3rd is 73... aside the column shifter assembly difference, you can see how diff is articulated.
The big round piece on 74s is actually a metallic shield to protect a thin rubber coupler inside, similar to GM or Toyotas, way different to the Big Puck rubber coupler used on 73s
Dunno if you can also note the firewall cut out difference. Hard to see but is there
