When I first start my car and leave my house the power steering works like everyday Chrysler power steering.. About two miles down the road there is a left turn I make and I have semi-power steering. It is then more like manual steering rather than power for the rest of the trip. Belt is tight, fluid full and no noise from anything. Anyone have something like this happen.

If it is a Federal pump it is probably worn out.
Mine did the similar sort of thing.

perhaps a binding control valve that sits on top of steering gear. what happens if your first turn is a right-hand turn?

Same, any direction. I lose the power steering assist in about a mile or two.

A worn pump would fit the symptoms.
When the fluid is cooler the viscosity is higher and the pump makes pressure then as it heats and thins out the pump slips.
