When I was a kid, I found a turn signal light in the garage and tried to plug it into a socket spliced into an extension cord...it didn't work so I licked my fingers and grabbed both ends of the wire splice.....I was stunned with the results and never played with live wires again...

Kind of the same when I was little. It’s amazing what a little pain will teach you.

About ten years ago I needed to fix s 220v variable sp ventilation fan in a swine finisher.
I asked a co-worker if he had killed the breaker, he said yes. So I proceded to remove the motor.
I touched the back of the motor and instantly saw the back of my own head, out of body experience.
Turns out, the lazy halfwit didn't kill the breaker, and it wasn't the motor, but was the relay receptacle.
The receptacle was melted and was sending 110v through the ground wire, as soon as I touched the ground it lit me up. Didn't help the barn was wet.
It was an uh huh moment. Never trust some halfwit or anybody for that matter to kill power, check for yourself!

"Tic Tracers" only work on AC current.
They will NOT work on D.C. circuits.
Lost a coworker this way while he was working on a DC escalator motor...
I've been to several LOTO Lock Out Tag Out and Arc Flash training classes and it's amazing how many people don't understand this..... instructors included

An Arc Flash event can expel large amounts of deadly energy. The arc causes an ionization of the air, and arc flash temperatures can reach as high as 35,000 degrees Fahrenheit. This is hotter than the surface of the sun.

Holding your breath can save your life. Inhaling the arc flash and associated molten metal will burn your lungs and that's what will kill ya....
I never inhale! Lol
