Storing a car

I would start with a large sheet of heavy plastic on the ground to keep moisture from coming up. Seal all holes as others have mentioned and use the dryer sheets. tape the plastic up to the sides of the car then another sheet on top of the car hanging down over the edges of the lower sheet to keep rain and junk out.

Live next to crazy cat Lady! Put cat food next to car the cats are freaking amazing.
I had a car infested once didn't see them stuck car in garage they all vacated car for garage!
I tried like hell but couldn't get them I tried everything final I broke down and bought rat shot for my .22 that worked good for a bit but they just hid when I was there!
So one day I opened the side door window. And put a bowl of milk near door the cats came for the milk then found the rats !
Every morning I'd have 2-3 dead rats by the door so I would fill up the milk bowl each time. The cats got every rat ! Haven't seen a rat in years

A buddy of mine lives out in the sticks and has a bunch of cars. He has a "shop cat" ... no rodent problems.

As noted above in my earlier post, two main points of entry for mice, the cowl vent in front of your windshield (with free access to your heater box and fresh air vents) and the gap between the door glass and rear quarter glass wipers in hardtops. Seal'm and hope for the best 'till Spring!

Storing outside is a bitch, but tell ya, not a whole lot better in unattended garages and pole buildings. I've used most of the tricks, moth balls, dryer sheets, peppermint bags...for my old plow truck. Heard Irish Spring soap shavings might work. I've tie-wrapped dryer sheets around the engine bay wiring in several areas, stuffed sheets in the vents, few bags of peppermint tossed inside. All this stuff will become aged and worthless like within a month or so, so have to refresh it. If you can get a sheet or or better, two of drywall for underneath to retard moisture. Some other tips posted here sound great will have to look into it.

I did the irish spring thing years ago. Thought it was questionable. Then i saw them eating a bar of it in my shop. Debunked that theory for me.
Again, cats. Natures Terminator

We used to get mice in the house some times. I worked on sealing up where I thought they were getting in - which surely helped. But since we've had a cat or two living in our house for the past 15 years, I've never seen another mouse inside the house. And the cats aren't getting them, either. I think the mice smell the cats and know it's not a mouse friendly environment. The garage and our camper are another story, though. Still an ongoing battle. I use dryer sheets in the Plymouths and no problems - even for the long winter storage period. I'm currently trying something similar to the Fresh Cab pouches mentioned earlier.

Put sandwich bags over ends of tail pipes and give them a wrap of electrical tape---------------duct tape is a pita to get off

Tried everything, only one worked, had a cedar 2x4 left over from a swingset, cut about a foot and a half, threw it on the back floor.
I would cut a sliver off each year or hit it with rough sandpaper.
Stored in a 10x20 canopy, then a garage, since 2008.
Never an issue until it sat without a trans this past spring/summer, above the visor, without the cedar because I remove it each spring - doh!

5 gallon pail, anti freeze at bottom ( few inches), wire through a pop can, through top of pail, covered in peanut butter. 2x4 up to wire. Mice run up board, on wire to can and they fall in, can’t escape. Works well to kill and slow down breeding.

I keep mouse traps by the corners of each of the 3 garage doors and the service door as well as 1 or 2 along the perimeter walls. I get 6 -10 every fall as soon as they enter...... before they can do any damage.

I don't have a rodent problem here in Nevada.
We got ROAD RUNNERS !!!
