Where are you guys mounting the after-market tach in your Roadrunner with the column shifter? I know I'm not the only one trying to find a good spot. I mean a tach like a Dixco or Stewart Warner (4") style. I can't strap it to the column, to close to the dash. I'm not going to drill holes and mount it on top of the dash, just don't look good there. Under the dash.....hmmmm, kind of hard to see. Anyone have any ideas and maybe some pictures? This is not a race car, just a car show driver. I have 5 different tachs, different styles and brands. I just thought one would look kind of good in the car. Thanks

You could fab up a bracket to mount it under Radio to bottom of Dash. Angle it so it you can see it better.

My kid has a coronet with a column shift. We are going to make it a floor shift to accommodate the tach.

A-pillar.. lousy picture but you get the idea.. could see it without looking ........yes its a Chebby

Thanks for that idea but that spot is already taken. The radio didn't work anyway so I took it out, put a metal plate there and installed water temp and oil pressure gauges. They look great there but there's no room for a tach in that spot.

Here's my vintage Sun Tach in my 69 hemi RR. it came with no tach from the factory.

I once had a mount that slid under the dash pad of my 69. It didn't require drilling holes and was very stable.

Why a 4" tach in a daily driver or show car? If it is essentially to shift at a certain rpm install a shift light much easier to see.

My Sun Tach is strapped to the column with a rusty hose clamp. This in honor of Galen Go-V-A.

here is what I did to our car

My goal is still to get a Dixco hood tach. Then I don't have to worry about the dash mount anymore. :)

Well, I got my tach mounted in a good spot. It works great and life is good. Now on to the next challenge or project. The "FUN" never stops. Thanks everyone for the help/info. IMG_5197.jpgIMG_5198.jpgIMG_5199.jpg
