A few years ago we visited Bermuda. While riding on a public bus an entire class of 6-7 year old kids boarded (they use the public buses to get to school). Each one said "good morning" to the bus driver (an older kid boarded and didn't say anything and was quickly reminded by the driver that he was to greet him with a "good morning" The kids quietly stood in the aisle because the bus was full. Not a peep from any of them. The teacher was standing next to us and I said to her "if this was in the US those kids would not be so well behaved- what's your secret?" She responded "in Bermuda, children are taught at an early age to be seen and not heard". Amen
It all starts with good home training! My wife would volunteer at the elementary school. You could always tell which kids the "parents" would work with. It doesn't matter whether they were well off or not. Manners and discipline instilled at a young age typically carries through to adulthood. 440'
