we are not the top appex preditor in the ocean
especially unarmed on a surfboard in a surfing contest

I'm sort of surprised no warning from overhead patrol/spotters
especially in Australia
'the man in the grey suits'/aka Great Whites
or places like S. Africa, Calif., or Baja coast or off Mass.
where they are known to be

I loved surfing, you're truly in touch with nature
more so when I was young & healed/recovered quickly
we knew they were there
I had sen obvious fins off the beach at dusk & dawn hrs
I had seen a few blackish/dark objects cruising under me
many, many times
I usually moved from that area
could've been seals or sharks
never any encounters, but I had heard about a few
they both inhabit the exact same areas, where the surf is the best
one is the prey & one is the hunter
not sure, which I saw all the time
didn't take too many chances either way
& I'm not sure it was the smartest deal either
