I remember buying parts for my original 67 GTX there in 1970-71. Just like the pictures, heavy muscle parked everywhere. Later they opened a second dealership in, I think, Buffalo Grove. I had them build me a Hemi spec torqueflite for a 70 AAR Cuda. Those were the days.
I remember having a desire to own a Daytona in the fall of 69. Couldn't find one in my home state of Minnesota so I called and spoke with Mr Norm personally. He told me he had 5 of them on the lot and asked me where I was located. When I told him, he talked me out of making the trip as the State of Minnesota would not license a Daytona because of the lack of a front bumper. I bought a Super Bee locally instead.
I met him at the Nationals years ago and told him about our phone call. He didn't remember me but did remember the bumper issue back then. I don't know when they changed it but there are quite a few licensed there now.
