Let me start by saying, I have searched and looked for weeks now on line for suitible looking mopar 6- pack air cleaner set up so that you can work and see your engine without having to take off an big air grabber air cleaner, and the only one i have found is found at a few web sites, but the thing is i have always liked the round air cleaner look and not too excited about the rectanglar air cleaner look,, with all of that said i have made 2 diffrent kind of holley 2300 carb D- shaped opening air cleaners set up, and i think i may have sort of nailed it this time with a lot of thought and hand work on this matter, I have posted some pictures of both designs and would like for your comments on these, and if you think it could work for us as 6-pack people maybe i could talk to someone who could machine these for production for us as mopar 6-pack lovers that has the back in the day look, Thanks for your time and thoughts.

Ingenuity is the Mother of Invention!

Looks good to me!
I'm surprised you had ample room under the hood.

Thats the thing, I have not yet tried them under the hood yet, as it sits they are on my engine start up stand, but i am pretty sure it will work with my six-pack hood.

I would just get some aluminum sheets and fabricate an aluminum plenum, use a rectangle KN type filter right on top with a retainer around the edge... http://www.ebay.com/itm/K-N-33-2574...ni|Model:Countach&hash=item2102e98fbd&vxp=mtr
so that filter or one that fits your design would sit on top of the carbs in your fabricated air box, it would be held down with a fabricated rectangle ring all the way around it and wing nuts, that would look pretty sick, paint it all high gloss orange...

BUT if you want to save yourself a lot of work, just buy the custom KN filter and cut your 3 carb holes, it will fit across all 3 carbs and wont look bad at all.. I would paint the cf top orange as well as maybe the bottom and clamps... http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=56-9188-1 you can get them under $100 for the kit, make a card board template, trace it on the lower plate and dremel it out. Then to hold it down you could use long rods through the top with wing nuts, BUT I would epoxy or rivet in a hidden internal structure to fasten it down, something simple like some sheet metal bent to hit the mounting points with a wingnut...

I think the best option would be to fabricate and aluminum box and cut in an oval pipe filter into the front http://www.carid.com/knn/oval-tapered-air-filter-mpn-rp-5182.html make it look alike a tunnel ram of sorts, find the largest oval conical they sell and fit it to the front..

There are tons of options you could also make a tunnel ram, do the cfm math and have it touch all 3 carbs and then run aluminum pipe down to a cold air source with a conical filter or 2 ...

sky is the limit, aluminum is easy to weld, easy to cut, and paints and polishes really nice..

As a six pack owner and lover I would be thrilled for a cost effective alternative to the monster stock air cleaner set up. I've looked around too and found a guy in Detroit that used to make something like what you're looking at doing. His issue was manufacturing and cost of production. If you can keep it cost friendly I'd be interested. Agree that I don't like half my engine hidden by the huge grabber.

I agree with all you said, And if i only had the knowledge and shop tooling to do this i would not charge an arm and a leg too produce them, Remember Sam Walton started out selling his products at very reasonable cost and look at where the company he started is today,

I have already contacted this e-bay seller about my design but have never got back in contact with him. because without any photos he did not fully understand what i was talking about, and i was not yet finished constructing them yet, and the thickest 1 inch spacer he has for sale is not tall enough, they would have to be at least 2 to 2- 1/2 inches tall to clear the center carb. choke flap.
