Just got an updated quote from SST for a TKX kit with hydraulic T/O....
Almost $ 7000 bucks.

That's more than I paid for the running car, the rebuilt 383, the second hand Eddy heads, the new 3.73 3rd member( that I did have to reset the gears), the second hand A833, the bolt on fiberglass 5" A12 hood, 727 kit, 2700 converter and a bunch of other small parts......combined.

That settles it....GVO is in my future.

SEVEN GRAND! FML!

If it makes you feel any better, that's about what I paid back in 2022 when I ordered my kit, so the cost has not increased with inflation. I have no regrets, but I can see your point. The GVO lists for $3200. If you figure another $1000 for a new drive shaft and normal project creep (normal for me, at least), you're still $2500-ish ahead.

Passion 4+1 855 (mopar spec.) if you can even get one, is about the same now
the trans alone is like $5,500

Richmond/Doug Nash 5 speed could be an option
not sure what they cost now, but were like $3,500 for the trans & shifter
several different gears selections to chose from, Overdrive (?)
reuse the org. 833 flywheel, bell-crank, bellhousing in many cases
but will need a specific 26 spline IIRC clutch & disc., spec. throw-out bearing too

I'd assume it's considerably cheaper
but don't quote me

I don’t think they are making the 855 anymore.
And Richmond Doug Nash is long gone

Richmond Transmission (Super Street IIRC) are or were being sold by Summit Racing still
(maybe not the exact Doug Nash brand/label anymore, but that's exactly what it was,
when Richmond purchased it
)

I haven't even looked in some time now, maybe a year +...

I don't know if they still sell their tko kit but I'll tell you I really don't like my tko, never have. So don't go that route if it's a discount to the tkx.
I'd save a bunch of money and go 833 OD if it's not a high hp deal

Thanks for vindicating that it's not just me! Lol.

Actually got a line on 2 used GVOs at about 1k each asking price...and with the controllers..(of course 1 chevy and 1 ford)
Now I just need a 727 adapter housing and input adapter...again hopefully second hand..cause GVO wants almost $850.

I've looked nationally for years for used 727 adapters, I've seen 2-3 and not at much discount. I would have bought them if they were
