Hi guys,
I'm seriously considering going to a 6 barrel setup on my 440. It's currently a bone stock 440 4 barrel, automatic, 3.55 rear gear, stock exhaust manifolds and heads. The only warm up is a Comp Cams. 21-670 hydraulic , duration 280 intake, 287 exhaust, .474 lift exhaust and intake.

Here's the planned parts list,

Edelbrock aluminum manifold from Summit Racing part# EDL 2475
Holley carbs from Summit center carb #HLY-0-4144-1
outboard carbs #HLY-0-4365-1
Chrommoly intake bolts from Summit PN# ARP-144-2001

Also new stainless fuel lines pump to carb, New throttle return spring and mounting bracket,
air cleaner assembly including base, filter element and lid, air filter studs and gaskets.
New choke assembly
Valley pan and gaskets. ( between manifold and pan.)

My questions are
1. am I missing anything as far as parts go? (eg. throttle cable and kickdown rod)
2. will this manifold work with my Air Grabber height wise?
3. It's my understanding that the 6 pack damper is only required with 6 pack rods. True?
4. Any recommendations as far as a better cam etc.
Thanks in advance,

you can get the whole kit-and-kaboodle from one of the Mopar vendors.

I think it's a great idea. I bought mine on fleaBay, not on the car yet...

I guess is it for the look and cool factor, or more the performance gain? I think they are very cool, and have toyed with the idea before myself, but for getting down the track, I still have found a good old 4 baarrel holley works best for me.

I agree that it's more for the "cool" factor than horsepower and it's a pricey project. I was looking for answers to whether I'm forgetting anything in the parts department, and do I need to change the harmonic balancer. Also is it all going to fit with the air grabber? GrabberOrange's looks pretty tall.

well think about this ... the factory installed them in cars with AG and used the same air cleaner ... one with bug/rain deflector and one w/o. one w/o deflector is for the AG. the ones in the kits i've seen have deflector but you can remove it easy enough for AG use

the cleaner base is swept down like an upside down bowl to keep profile or height of the set up down

This article from the December 2007 Hot Rod is excellent and has certainly made the 'rounds on many web forums, but just in case you hadn't seen it, here it is again:

Part 1 has the mule 383 with 906 heads, part 2 with Edelbrocks. For my car, I hadn't decided what I would run on the top end. My car has a definitive hot rod flavor with the flame paint job, so I was leaning to multiple carbs, but was not willing to give up much to get that look. I was thinking of running an STR, but I would have been satisfied with a single 4 if it was clearly superior. I decided to go with the 6 pack after reading these articles because I wanted the vintage look and saw you didn't give up hardly anything to go with the 6 pack - in fact, the 6 pack out paced many popular street combos.
