Hello everyone. I've been a long time lurker just reading over what everyone has to say for a while now and I must say I am impressed with knowledge, skills and even the frugality of some here! It is amazing what can be done with the skill set some of you have. I have been a mopar man since I was a mopar boy. LoL. I'm 38 years old and my first car was a 1972 road runner and my fathers first two new cars were road runners(1970 and 1972). I'm not a gear head so to speak, because I do not have the skill set required, but now as I am older and at least a little more financially secure, I want to start playing with these cars and learn those skills. I have read so much about these cars and combos and what could be done, that I can have a descent technical conversation with the average Joe, but when it comes to actually doing anything, I am gonna be struggling simply because I have not been there and done that before. So I guess am an Internet expert, which we all know and love, but I am NOT one who thinks all my reading means I know how to do everything. Lol. So I will hopefully make some new friends here that will help me with ideas, tips and suggestions to help me through this. I know this is a love and passion that will cost me greatly, but I am going to hopefully be doing a few of these and run my projects like a business. Just a business that I know I will take a loss on. Lol. Basically what I mean is because I have limited funds and want to do a few of these, I will have to get the best bang for my buck on everything instead of going all out on one. I look forward to hearing from you all on my first 1971 RR project. Pics to follow.

Welcome Chris. Lots of knowledgeable people here. Don't be afraid to ask.

Welcome aboard Chris! I'm a bit southwest of you and just might be able to help out with some of your suspension / dress up ideas when you get that far. In the meantime, enjoy the place and the people -- it's one of the best there is. :D

hi and welcome to the site nice ride:blob1::blob1:

Hello Chris, welcome! I like your car. What do you have in mind for the project?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I posted some of my ideas in the general forum. CudaChick. As far as suspension goes, I am thinking frame connectors and torque boxes. Moving in the springs and a mini tub to accomodate 335 or bigger tires in back. If you have any recommendations on suspension, I would love to hear them. I am gonna be moving fast on this restoration, so speak up and don't be shy. Most here have tons more experience than myself. I am stripping that pretty Red Runner down to her fame this week. I plan to have her on the rotisserie by next week, so let me know. It would be nice to have all suspension parts here and ready to go so that I am not hacking on a newly finished frame after the fact. Knowing me though, I will end up cutting something and painting at least something twice. Lol

Forgot to mention, the engine is a fresh mild 505 from a 440, 727 with 2300 stall that was professionally rebuilt( although I have no experience with this guy and I'm not real confident even though it seems fine) and it has an 8 3/4 rear(looking for a cheap dana). Car is a numbers car Tor Red with 383, 727(both removed and set aside to keep safe), white interior, power windows, but no power steering or brakes?! I do not have a build sheet, so I plan to change color to a rich blue with slight purple color shift and a white strobe stripe. Probably going to 16 or 17 inch wheels(mustang bullet rims maybe?). This is all subject to change if I run across the build sheet in an unusual place during disassembly. If so, will keep original color since it is high impact. If any of this sounds like a bad idea or if something can be improved on or has a better bang for the buck, let me know!

welcome to FBBO very cool project, sounds like my kind of build....
