My favourite General....after Patton :headbang:

I still saw three "General Lee's" on ebay last week including one 4X4. They may have trashed a bunch of cars 35 years ago, but there does not appear to be a current day "General Lee" shortage.

Later in the show's run, when it got too hard and/or expensive to continue procuring more Chargers, the producers started using more "jump footage" from previous episodes. In the final season radio-controlled miniatures were occasionally used to the chagrin of several cast members.

How accurate is Wiki?

I wouldn't get too upset over the cars used up in the tv show. Even after you subtract 300 or so cars used, there's still twice as many as the '70 model around.

loved the show, loved the daisy dukes
not a big fan of all the clones running around today thou

sad part seems to be,
every time I saw a show for years, late 70's early 80's,
it was yet another gen 2 charger getting destroyed/wrecked

neally every movie a charger is in it gets destroyed.

Dukes of hazzard shwo and movie
Bullitt
every fast and furious movie
blade
newer version of vanishing point
dirty mary crazy larry
im sure theres others

What you need to remember though, is at that time, they were just cheap used cars. Not the collector cars they are today.

Exactly. Think of it this way; out of 89,000 or so Chargers made that year, tens of thousands of them no longer exist because of accidents, they weren't worth keeping when they needed something fixed or just plain deterioration over time. Just a few hundred went into the movies and tv, and we get to see those cars because they were recorded for us. The other ones that are gone are...gone.

I hope she finds out where that oil spot came from !:eusa_think:
