I had a fiberglass tilt front end on a 1967 Barracuda rece car. What a PITA. Because the fenders roll in at the lower (rocker) area, it takes two people to pull out and then lift to tilt forward. You also have to have a full cage with the front bars tied into the cage as your front end support will be gone. If this is a street car, you may want to rethink the whole idea.
hi wedgie, not a street car, have the front end off now, changing to fiberglass and it real easy to work on the engine with just the inner fender walls.so i was thinking two lane blacktop style front end.my front bars are outside of the inner fender walls.so was it too much of pita?i dont always have a extra set of hands,so?thanks, mark
This is my 71 Demon drag car with a tilt front end. I bought the car with the tilt front end.
It is a lot easier to work on, and it cools down pretty quick at the track in between rounds. But not everyone likes this look. I myself am on the fence about it, but it does work well.
Mine is all steel and it rotates on the bumper bolts, really easy, I can put it up myself. I just wished they wouldn't have cut the fenders the way they did.
