Warning.....contains the 'F' word...... FORD :)

RetroChad is quite well known in Odessa Texas apparently, and can give a few tips on repairing the 8-track units. He uses a Ford unit, but the technique is the same. It helped me out while stripping my one down last year.

He also does a nice string of clips on 'Mixed bean soup for one' and 'how to repair your Organ' ...needless to say, Chad is single and enjoys making YouTube contributions.

I just had to share this innerweb gold, it was too funny to keep all to myself. :hello2:

Thats funnay right there kiwi. Thank for posting I have few 8 tracks and will use the vid and the website in future.

Thanks.
Good stuff. I have a rack stereo system with turn table, tuner, dual cassette, 6 pack CD changers, and I added an old 8 track player/recorder to it. I also have a portable boom box one, and one in my GTO.

I have a box of AMC ones, I need to get one fixed and put it in the Javelin.

The fella who demonstrates the 8-track player sounds remarkably like the same fella who has a bunch of You Tube video clips showing how he salvaged a bunch of analog TV sets that people were throwing out when digital video first came in. I believe he lives somewhere in suburban Chicago as his clips feature excerpts from WGN and WLS tv station broadcasts. Everyone needs a hobby and his is electronics from the 1970s it seems. :icon_winkle:

A timely re-run for those looking to open up and check their AM-8-track units. :)
