Wow. What a dick. He would never get to use it again...

I borrowed the neighbors spade once. When I took it back he said why did I bring him a new one? What happened to his shovel? It was his shovel, cleaned up. When he loaned it to me it was covered in dirt and rust. Crap all ground into the wood handle. I scoured the blade down to bare metal and coated it with WD-40. Sanded the handle down and re stained the wood and sealed it with clear. He was astounded. Wanted to know if I needed to borrow anything else.....

Goes to one of the things my dad always told me.
If you have to borrow something, bring it back in as good or better condition than you got it.
