Hey guys, newbie here. I have a daily driver 73' Plymouth Satellite. 318 with a 904. Nothing special. I was looking into doing a 4 speed manual conversion. Any thoughts or concerns?

Thanks.

I did this to my Dart, it's not bad if you have all the parts in front of you ready to go. The suckiest part is replacing the floor hump...I did it all with the car up on jacks, definitely helps to have someone for an extra hand. Anything specific your wondering about?

I am doing this conversion on my '68 Charger. CKJ688 is correct you need to have the parts in advance. It does make the job easier. Plan on paying at least about $2,500 or so for all the parts, trans, clutch etc. I do have a list of the parts that I used if you like, even though yours a 73, it should be similar.

Although their more expensive then other places (for the most part) Brewers Performance has EVERYTHING you would need, and searching through their online store will help you realized the pieces you'll have to find to do the swap.

Hey Calsmit, welcome! I just scrapped my 4 speed swap in my 73 Satellite, not because it was too hard, but because I decided to go with a 5-speed. If you decide to do it, I have about 80-90% of the pieces you need...a lot of them from Brewers. I'd be happy to hook you up and save you some $$$. Just want to get out what I have into it. I spent the last 6 months sourcing the parts and there are only a few things more you'd need...pedal box, z-bar, shifter linkage and clutch linkage.

PM me if you're interested.
