Could someone tell me what this is? 70 Charger don't know think I need it but curious?

I’m also interested to know what this is. I took one off of my charger too and all I could come up with was a heat shield for the exhaust or resonator but that’s just a guess.

It is for exhaust but doesn't seem to have any attachment pointsor really shield heat being open to the top but I was thinking same maybe a resonator fit there? Only have one so probably single exhaust originally...

I'm not sure, but my 70 Roadrunner (original dual exhaust) has that piece & the exhaust pipe runs right through that area.
 
Don't Hemi cars have a muffler and a resonator? The resonators are next to the gas tank.
 
The bracket is a shield for the EEC fuel system to my understanding. Is this a California emissions equipped car?

I'm not sure bought it semi basket case, it is only on the right side 318 auto car so would that be like a charcoal canister in a 70?

Definitely not a hemi car and that piece right side only... Does look llines up with where exhaust would be? a curiosity thing I guess , this ner going back to original with what's already done to it.
