It might be more important these days to realize there can also be NO TRUTH in advertising. Check out the email I received at the shop this morning:
"Hello phoenixspecialtycoatings@yahoo.com,Hope you are doing Great.I am sure you want to expand your business and that's why we are running our ONLINE REPUTATION PROGRAM, where we are providing reviews on Google, facebook, yelp and other important platforms from which you can get more customers for your business.This program will help your business to expand easily and build your strong reputation among your competitors.If you are interested in our ONLINE REPUTATION PROGRAM, We can share more details about pricing and how we do it.Looking forward to hearing from you soon.Regards

This is the response he received.
"Tom, I have owned and operated my business for fifteen years and have never minced words or been less than honest with anyone. I'm not changing that practice today with you.
I find your business absolutely DESPICABLE and providing nothing other than a disservice to the general public in every way. Fabricating fake reviews for pay not only destroys the credibility of the writers themselves, it essentially renders ALL feedback about any business suspect.
I have worked my *** off to make my customers delighted for real and am honored that most take the opportunity to share their opinions with me. I'm proud to include their comments on my website because every one of them was an ACTUAL CUSTOMER who was happy with my results.
Your email showed up in my Spam folder if that tells you anything. I had to mark it as safe to generate my response to you ... and will then mark it as Spam again as soon as I send my reply.
Your practice is not only distasteful to a legitimate business owner but poisons the entire feedback system to its core. I will not pay you or any other company to write false reviews for my globally recognized metal restoration business and will instead continue to provide top notch customer service and the highest attention to detail found in my industry despite you and others like you who are willing to lie in order to receive compensation for something that never occurred in the first place.
I will be posting a copy of your email to FaceBook to alert the public that companies now exist solely to fabricate favorable reviews.
I hope you will take my response with the spirit it is intended and consider getting a job that you can be proud of as well. If not, shove it up your ***."

Shouldn't that rear access panel be placed a little lower.
I agree with Cuda Chick, Inever had to advertise for work as a contractor. All was word of mouth from clients. And of course I always qualified the new clients. No pay, no play! ruffcut
