Trying to edit signature and getting an error?

I was trying to remove the link to my 69 build thread since I no longer own the car. But when I do I get an error code saying my "signature is 3 lines too long".
How can this be if I am actually decreasing the current version by a couple?

I think a recent upgrade has limited the sig to 2 lines.

If it was longer before the upgrade, it got grandfathered (or whatever the programming term is).

I can't remove or change the reference to my old PT that got replaced by a
Renegade.
The error I get says "...five lines too long".

I originally thought it was because I am not currently a gold member, but now that you have the same issue...
