I need the measurement of the engne oil dipstick tube from where it goes into the block to the top of the tube. Also, what is the distance from the full mark on the dipstick to the rim of the dipstick that rests on top of the tube?
Thank you,
Mrs. 69/70 Plymies

Which engine? What oil pan? You're probably better off to mock it up, put measured water in it and check the stick until you get to the 5,6,7,8 quarts required.
Once you're happy, dump the water, fill with cheap oil. Check it, adjust as needed, dump it and fill again. A little distilled water in there won't hurt anything.
Several ways to skin this cat if you think.

What you're asking is irrelevant. The real importance is the amount of oil in the pan. The dipstick/indicator should be tailored to the actual, and correct, volume of oil.

Let us start this over. My wife tried and I got a laugh on her vague questions. My question is simple for the person out there that has a 1969 factory correct 318 engine. Mine is in a Satellite. Now, my wife's questions are relevant.

I don't think the inquiry was vague. My reply was meant to infer that the correct amount of oil actually in the sump supercedes what a measuring stick might indicate.
