turn signal bulb

How do you remove the front turn signal bulb on a '64? I twisted n pulled, pryed...I don't want to break this. Thought it would be straight forward
 
never mind, got it. not alot "ease of maintenance" thought put into these back in '64
 
If it's anything like mine was it was super corroded. I broke the bulb then used a long nose pliers to pull the base out. This was after I blasted it with penetrating oil. The other side was a different story the base was corroded and I wound up replacing the socket too.
 
When you replace it, put some die electric grease on the bulb.....will make removal easier when the time comes.

The bulb removal was easy..it was getting to the bulb. I didn'r realize you had to remove the lens and gasket. I was trying to pull the socket out of the housing..oops
