Hey all, I have a quick question.
I'm trying to convert my '71 Coronet to a floor shift. I have the proper collars and a factory shop manual, but had a hell of a time removing the upper steering column bearing and its rubber sleeve. I managed to get it out but mangled them both pretty badly.
How do I get a new one in? The shop manual isn't any help.
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys,
had to refresh this fred. Has anyone a source for these upper steering column bearings WITH the rubber sleeve (isolator)? I find thousands of them, but no sleeve. How would someone replace the bearing and use the old rubber?

uh, thought there is a ground strap for the horn? or is that the plus pole?

It just provides a path for the ground since the inner column is isolated by rubber on both ends.
