It's a different length, you need one from a 71 to 74 B body.

I needed a vent cable for my B body because the mounting tabs broke off. I couldn't find any B body pieced but I found a C body in a boneyard and checked the vent cable. The handle and mount was the same but the cable was longer. I cut the black sheath off to match the length of my broken B body piece, wrapped the wire around a nail to match the coiled wire at the end of the cable that worked the vent door, and there it was. Just an idea.
