I am in the process of reassembling my vent windows. I put in new Metro brand gaskets that I bought years ago. On the outside, the front bottom corner of the gasket sits up on top of the chrome piece. I know the originals were not like this. Has anyone had this problem before with the Metro brand gaskets?

I am thinking about trimming that bit off, but am worried you will be able to tell that I trimmed it. Just curious if others have trimmed it and it looked ok.

I checked a few times and the gasket looks to be in the correct position. The cutouts for the lock on the inside and for the pivot on the outside are in the correct places.

I just tucked it in as best I could. Once its in the car and tucked down in the door you won't notice it.
