anybody took the frame apart. what is the best way. going to have part rechrome but don't want to send whole frame. also need vent window gaskets .the old ones look like there molded gaskets. i don't want to use silcone. thanks

I just did this so I'll give you my run-down. There is an attaching screw on the outside of the door frame at the top facing down, a bolt on the bottom of the door facing up and a bolt on the lower inside of the door holding a bracket for the vent window frame. I'm assuming that you have the door stripped of all the cranks and panel at this stage. Once it's loose you can separate the side glass from the regulator. This part is tricky since you have to find the exact angle to negotiate it out of the slot. It took my a while for my first one but having the vent widow frame loose helps. Once the side glass is out you should have no problem removing the vent window.

Sorry, I have no source for window rubbers but there definitely out there.

Since the guy above didn't seem to understand what you were asking, I will address what I did with my 63 Fury. As I read your question are are already ahead of what he described. The vent window frame once disassembled still has framework attached to the part that needs rechroming. This assembly is factory riveted together. I drilled the rivet, or whatever the official terminology for that piece is called. Now it is really a factory pin that holds everything together very tight. I intend to replace that part after chroming with probably a nut/blot to get it tight as factory. There may be other solutions but that is what I did. No other way to get the piece that needs chroming apart. I hear some chromers that are Mopar smart handle the vent window disassembly themselves, but that means shipping the whole thing.

Tough words but I guess that's why you're called blackheart.

My mistake, carry on.
