Wish to THANK ALL of the Viet Nam guys aboard here for their Service to US. You are NOT FORGOTTEN. Nor EVER will be. I know little of it other than what my Uncle (UH-1 Pilot) "1st Cav Air Mobile" would say. My father never talked about it, (25th I.D.)11B
Best advice I ever had from him was to "AVOID the Army at all costs"! Of course I didn't listen. Just wanted put this out there.

God Bless you and again, THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE!

(SFC. 1-64th Armor/3rd ID O.I.F.1, M1A1 Crewman/TC) 2000-2007

God bless all you ‘Nam Vets!!! I am proud of each and every one of you who were called and went. Shame on those who were too privileged or insecure to man up and shame on the liberal protesters who never welcomed you home. Thank you for your sacrifices!!! US Navy 1986-1989

Thank you to all of our vets! I do think this day for the V. N. vets is way over due. I am ashamed of the way your country treated you when you came home.
God bless you all

I'm told, by a fellow Tanker who was over in the "Litter Box" as a wingman there's a series on HBO? I havent seen it. Probably won't. A series I guess called "The Long Road Home". It supposedly involves Sadr City, there was supposed to have been a Cease Fire by the Iraqis, buddy says it shows Our 2 M1's going into town (Which you never do!) To grab these 11 guys stuck. I dunno if its out there, but he says it's pretty accurate..
Again THANK YOU Nam Guys-

A big salute to the ones that had to go there!! I was in the military during Nam but thank God I never had to go to that place. My BIL did two tours in Nam with one being on a river boat and he'll talk about it so long as you listen. He's a regular war monger and liked being there.
Me? was an AF 'white hat' but that was only on the main gate. The rest of the time was on one of the other two gates wearing fatigues. Also did some patrol in a 67 Chevy Biscayne, 283 3-speed that pinged like hell all the time if it was floored and if I was driving, the pedal saw the floor a lot.

Came back from Nam in Nov '68 & got reassigned from Infantry to MP. Our 65-66 Biscaynes at Benning were 3-on-the-tree six-bangers. Total pooches! Would get us from point A to point B (eventually) but not much else!

I can't say what needs saying in this forum.
Yeah, I don't know why this is in the "funnies" section? Nothing funny about being a Veteran, especially a combat Vet! USAF ret. 81-15
