Curious if one could order a 71 roadrunner or GTX with air conditioning when 426 or 440+6 engines were selected.

Thanks.

uuhmm,, "maybe" :upside down:

I am sure that if some factory exec would have wanted it they would have built it for him but I have never heard of an example of one.

He may be referring to my six pack bee with A/C which was a factory "type" conversion that some people have mistake in my add for it being factory installed.

well i would say there had to have been at least one out there, considering there were not supposed to be any 383-2bbl 4 speed cars our there in 68, but there were... I am sure I have heard of one, but when and where and what model of car it was escapes me.

There always was interesting stuff.

I know for a fact there was a few column shift 426 Hemi cars made in '71

There were no restrictions on a 383-2bbl four speed. It was available. It just wasn't popular so there weren't that many made.

It does fit:icon_kidra:

Yeah, it will fit on a six pack engine with that air cleaner but not with a factory 1969 A12 air cleaner.
There is a company that makes an underslung smaller modern compressor. You have to replace the factory mechanical fuel pump to use it but the compressor is hidden below the alternator.

A buddy of mine won a first place trophy for original restored 72 440 6 pack Cuda with ac.....and no, I wasn't a judge at that event. :spam dragon:

The newer low slung small compressors are awsome and work really well. That 440 6 pak with factory parts for A/C & cruse control was set up over 30 years ago:hello2:

Yeah people think I am crazy for wanting an original 440 six pack car with factory type A/C.

Many of the guys in the hobby are young enough to be may kids or even grandkids (not a bad thing as it keeps the hobby alive) and have no idea of what has been going on with these cars for the last 30-40 years.
