If there is one song from the 70's that most music aficionados would agree (if they could) is the most stellar, iconic it has to be Steely Dan's title track from their Aja LP. While most discussions center around Steve Gadd's phenomenal drumming or Larry Carlton's tasteful guitar playing, Wayne Shorter's amazing sax solo often gets overlooked. The song is one of those perfect storms where all the pieces came together at the right time. Today, we bid farewell to this master musician. You will never be forgotten.

Aja

It is amazing that music like this was actually played on FM radio.

What a career.
Played with Miles, Weather Report with Jaco (yeah I'm a bass player!) and da boys...and so many others. Another legend gone.
