We all have that inside us. It's just a matter of when GOD wants to bring it out.

Amazing what people can do when the adrenaline hits. Dad's very lucky that they were there.

With all the terrible news in the world it's such a great feeling to read something
positive for a change.

Thanks for posting!

The little tractor in the story is a Massey Ferguson TO20. Essentially the same as a Ford 8N. I have a 49 Ford 8N. I can tell you it's deceivingly heavy. 3000 pounds is probably right on top of it. Maybe a little more. The oil pan is huge and cast iron and part of the frame. Also, the main body of the tractor houses the transmission, hydraulic system and differential all in one big unit. Couple that with the 28" rear tires......everybody fills with water and you got a heavy little workhorse. He's blessed to be alive. Makes me rethink using mine when I am by myself at home.

Tractors and many other types of farm equipment are dangerous enough to operate and work around even if you are experienced and trying to be careful. I never run my tractor without at least letting someone know what I am doing and preferably having somebody on site to keep an eye out. It can save your life. A friend of mine had his tractor back over him when he was out doing some brush clearing on his place. He got off of his tractor to try to clear the brush hog on a slight uphill grade without setting the brake. It rolled back over his leg and crushed his femur. Luckily his wife came home soon after and went out looking for him or he might not have survived. This was a couple of years ago and after several surgeries he is walking but with a severe limp. The accident was terrible for him but a good lesson for me. I'm a lot more careful now. Be safe out there.

When you use the stuff all the time its easy to get complacent. Damn good thing it wasnt a deisel. Would have been much harder running.
