Not one to waltz around banging my own drum, but I got something pretty neat in the mail today. An Award?

Last August I took my freshly restored rust bucket for a ride to go visit a car show over in Green Bay. I'm not the kind of fella to enter my cars in car shows, but it was hot (low 90's), and I figured Heck, I'll pay the $5 Bucks, won't have to walk 4 blocks and have a nice oasis in the shade next to the River. We'll, I didn't stick around all day. Entered the car in the some mod class, walked around a few hours, chit-chatted and hit the road.

Well....to my surprise this showed up today:

I know there were plenty in my class (a lot of GM) and a lot of Club buddies, but I didn't care because I didn't go to win anything anyways.

Anyways, thought I would share. Makes a guy feel pretty good after a few years of chewing on rust, burning holes through your cloths and spending endless nights dumping down coffee, living on a few hours of sleep. My old rusty Plymouth has a plaque.......how bout that.

Bring on the spring!

Congrats, you did a hell of a job, that's a beautiful car.

Congrats on the award! Love the organisol stripes over the black. Chewing on rust.....Hehehe. I told you that you are cap'n rust. Now you just need your own breakfast cereal. Rust Flakes.

I have a similar story to share if no one minds. About 9 yrs ago I had a Porsche 911 and entered in a local concourse, just like you, to park it with my buddies cars and hang out. There is one guy in the local Porsche community that has a real nice car, and is very knowledgeable, but wouldn't give me the time of day back when I was building my car. Just a downright rude pompous ***. He's the guy they wrote the porcupine joke for. Anyway, my car is now done and he is there as well with all his tools and manuals displayed in proper fashion. My interior wasn't even completed so I left the doors closed. The judges came over to my car and asked to get in and judge the interior. I said "Haha, don't bother" "Its a mess and not done" They said we will have to give you a zero on that. I said fine. At the end of the day my name is being called as the second place winner.....And the pompous *** is third. He actually spoke to me after that but I wasn't too interested in what he had to say.

In case no one knows the porcupine joke: What is the difference between a porcupine and a Porsche? On the porcupine the pricks are on the outside. I'll be here all evening.

It's great to get something unexpected like that, but it looks like your car deserves it.

Your a class act Prop, and you deserve it. That Skeletor ride is amazing, I have watched your unveiling video several times and that car is MINT. You deserve every inch of that award and thanks for being such an asset to our B body community and forum. Keep up the good work!

Without reading any of your incredible build, your mopar is pretty nice to just look at! Congrats, and enjoy driving it come spring. ;)

Hey Prop . . . I'll place a bet that the award is only the first of MANY to come in the future - what you've done with your car is nothing short of amazing ! !

Congratulations for the award - but I feel that it was WELL deserved ! ( no, I didn't have to see your competition either ! ( smile ) )

Congrats to you Will !

Now get back to waxing that hood - it looks like you missed a few spots.

Congrats Will, A top notch job on the bird done by one great top notch guy!!!

Not a surprise at all, a car like that should win an award. If only they knew what lurks beneath haha. Great job Prop, sure would look great with 20s:poke:. Just messing with ya

GREAT looking car , you certainly deserved an award if the rest of the car looks anywhere near as nice as this one shot!

Congratulations, Prop - Beautiful car!
