I have a 1972 Coronet, love it, was in respectable shape by my dad backed into it with his truck

I found a 1969 coronet 4 door on craigslist and I'm considering it. The guy is asking $1800 which I think is a little high, I might offer him $1400 and maybe he'll take 1500. He emailed me some pics and it looks mostly solid, saw a rust spot in the quarter but it's actually not as bad as the rust on my car, from what I can see in the pic anyway.

He says it needs a fuel pump, tires and an alignment and other than that claims it's pretty much ready to be a daily driver.

My car is mechanically very good, has a rebuilt 318, good brake system, new shocks front and rear, good components pretty much everywhere. Just looks like hell now that my dad backed in to it, and the rust is getting kinda bad in the quarters. I do still get complements on it all the time though :)

But before I decide on the 1969 I want to know what parts can be swapped out of my 72 into the 69- mechanical and interior. My interior is perfect so the more that can be swapped the better, he hasn't sent me pics of the interior on the 69 but I doubt it's as good as mine is. What about brakes and suspension? And whatever else you can think of. Thanks.

Drive train, possible rearend- not much else. They are 2 different body styles, 1 roundish, 1 squareish--big differences.

What he said including brakes and a bunch of small parts. Assuming they're both bench seats then they might well swap. The rear is anybody's guess. Since the bodies changed in 71 there may well be a significant difference in the rears.

Pop in to the Welcome Wagon and introduce yourself

Rear End Housing , No , the 72 has a track width of 62.0 and a spring pad width of 47.3 , while the 69 has a 59.2 track width and a 44.0 spring pad width.

Thanks for the advice guys. I didn't get it, the guy actually still has it for sale, asking $1500 now. I decided I don't want another 4 door that I would just dump money into that I would never get back. I'm keeping an eye out for a good deal on a two door. I stupidly missed out on a great deal on a great duster a while ago. I also almost had an easily restorable 1967 coronet two door for a good deal but the seller backed out.
