Used parts don't sell fast
for hi-$$$'s
even if it has 2 miles on it, or out of the package, installed
it's now used parts, $0.50 cent on the dollar (is pretty std.)
you can ask far more, but it maybe a long time to find the right buyer
at a premium asking price
shipping would be a killer/deal breaker too for most any it's heavy & big stuff,
local pick up/advertsing would be the best probably
489 carriers go for like $500 all day with a Sure Grip, 3.55:1, more in some cases
it's not new now, doesn't matter what they sell for new
(either a 742 68 & earlier & 489 69 & later same deal)
if it has the bigger universals like the 7290 U-joints, that helps too
the housing 71-73 can be had for $200 & less,
(
not 100% sure on the 71 -73 longer versions, like 57-5/8"-ish, before the disc., add another 1/2" (?)
again IMO the other 'used parts' maybe 25% - at most used 50%, of their new value
if it's not rare stuff
if any or all of it, is in still good/great or near new condition,
maybe a bit more, may have to sit on them for a while to get a "real buyer"
lots of lookie-lous/tire kickers out there, that say they are worth more (if it's theirs esp.)
but when it comes to them buying, you selling, they'll want it cheap too
everyone wants a deal, be careful of flippers too
does it go with the wheels & tires too ?
if so a bit more than too
(in the photo, sorry I'm not in the market just asking)
the disc brakes are a nice perk, a couple hundred $$'s (can get new for about $500 at Summit)
springs have some value too, not a lot, maybe $100+ max
as a package deal, maybe $1,000-$1,200
to the right guy/gal who needs it,
should sell fast
That would be my thinking anyway,
not trying to gouge the public
