What's this 1968 Coronet hood worth?

Hello Everyone,
I am going through all the extra parts that were thrown in with a recent project car I picked up and am trying to get a value of some of the used parts. Below are some images of the hood in question. It is a really solid hood with minor surface rust on the under side. No metal would need replaced, just stripped.

Thanks in advance ~ Lenny B.

Gauge the market on eBay, watch a few auctions see where they end at.

I just happen to have one of those too -in the same condition. It's on my list of things that need to go but are too good to toss -and they do take up space. -Not cheap to ship.

BTW mine came from a 69 coronet.----Are the 68 and 69 the same hood?

The hoods are the same. In 1969 the hood had a trim piece along the front to fill in the grill.

The top skin is the same. The underside is different. The hood pictured is a 69. You can tell by the support bracket on the passenger side used to support the Ramcharger unit on the hoods with scoops. The front trim of the 69 will fit on a 68 and it will look stock until you open the hood. Then it's apparent it's a 68. There is a difference in hole placement also.

I'd like to have a good 69 hood. I've seen nice 69 bulge hoods priced up to $900.

This is interesting to learn about.
So the top skin is the same for 68 and 69 but the under frame is not? (by the changes made for the hood scoops in the 69 issue)?

Thanks for those details---I'm an old fart that grew up with a 69 superbee at age 19 and my current 69 coronet both had the fresh air hood.

Correct. You can tell the 69 hood by the support bracket.

And to be clear-- The support bracket is where in the photos?

(a 68 and 69 photo side by side would be helpful.)

I only ask this because all I know is about the 69 hoods. A 68 "power bulge hood without the "support bracket" would be an additional distinct identification clue beyond just the trim piece on the nose of the hood that the 69s had.

I see. I didn't know that. It looks like it has to be there because the engine and the air box are offset towards the passenger side a bit.

Thanks
